Harshita Ragavendran (Hershey)

Harshita Ragavendran (Hershey) is currently a sophomore at the University of Florida majoring in Microbiology and Cell Science on the pre-med track. She has been involved with Dr. Borum’s Precision Ketogenic Therapy (PKT) lab since Fall 2025, where she focuses on visualizing the PKT process through detailed graphics and diagrams. Her current project utilizes BioRender to depict the relationship between age and the “window of tolerance” for food in a comprehensive timeline format. Hershey believes it is extremely important to communicate complex concepts in an accessible manner to both patients and healthcare providers alike. Through this work, she has gained a deep appreciation for how personalized PKT is, and how it prioritizes each patient’s lifestyle and emotional needs. Seeing patients’ stories has shown her firsthand the importance of compassion in healthcare and strengthened the way she views medicine as a whole. Outside of academics and research, she enjoys reading and crocheting in her free time!

Juliana Tu

Juliana Tu is a junior at the University of Florida where she is majoring in health science and following a pre-med track. She was first exposed to the lab by her involvement in the Spring 2025 ALS4932 CURE class which explored the impact of food brand variations on nutrient composition and its effect on PKT patients. She officially joined the lab in Summer 2026. As a part of the clinic internship team, Juliana is involved primarily with the patient-care side of PKT which revolves around the personalization and long-time management of PKT (e.g., participating in PKT telehealth clinics and documenting patient communications/records for review). To her, the most inspiring aspect of PKT is how it’s tailored to each individual rather than using a “one-size fits all” treatment plan. In her spare time, Juliana enjoys playing rhythm, turn-based and rogue-like games, reading comics, and watching anime and C-dramas.

Michael Yencik

Michael Yencik is currently a 4th year undergrad student studying nutritional sciences on the pre-medical track. He started in the Borum Lab in May 2025 and one of the main reasons was because the Borum Lab focuses on helping patients who have not responded to traditional medicine and need a last resort, which is something he experienced firsthand. The effectiveness of precision ketogenic therapy on so many of our patients and families inspired him to join the clinic team and be a part of caring for the patients directly. Michael’s work includes keeping the Foodomics database accurate and updated, attending clinics with the patients, and soon to be starting a project with BioRender. His goal is to become a dermatologist, and he enjoys playing the piano and content creation in his free time.

Mark Shor

Mark Shor is an undergraduate student at the University of Florida, studying Health Science on the pre-med track. He has been part of the Precision Ketogenic Therapy (PKT) Lab since early 2026, contributing to projects that explore the use of nutrition as a form of precision medicine. He is currently a member of the Literature Review Team, where he analyzes scientific research on ketogenic therapies and their applications, further supporting the lab’s mission to advance precision medicine. He is particularly inspired by the potential of precision ketogenic therapy to provide personalized interventions that will improve outcomes and quality of life for patients and their families when conventional treatment options are limited. Mark aspires to become a doctor and plans to integrate innovation and technology into the future of healthcare.

Hannah Craig

Hannah Craig and is an undergraduate student majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders with minors in Deaf and Hearing Sciences and Disabilities in Society on the Pre-Dental track! She has been involved in the Precision Ketogenic Therapy Lab since Summer 2025 as a clinical intern. She attends patient clinic visits, works on clinical and other research-related activities, including organizing patient communication, updates patient summaries and assists in maintaining the Foodomics database. She believes one of the most inspiring parts of being a part of the lab has been being able to witness the impact PKT has on our patients and their families, firsthand. For Hannah, it’s very rewarding to be able to contribute to improving the quality of life for both our patients and their families. She hopes to one day become a dentist and provide compassionate, accessible care to all patients. Outside of the lab, she enjoys paddleboarding, spending time with her dog, friends and family!

Heer Patel

Heer Patel is a third-year dual-degree student tackling the fascinating intersection of Anthropology and Business on the pre-MD/PhD track. Setting her sights on a PhD in medical anthropology, Heer has been bringing her unique perspective to the lab since Spring of 2025. As a key member of the GLUT-1DS team, she investigates how current nutritional therapies impact seizure and movement disorder outcomes. She also tracks non-seizure parameters for patients on PKT, empowering families to actively measure qualitative progress by identifying positive milestones to celebrate and negative ones to eliminate. For Heer, working with PKT truly highlighted the profound value of food, not just as basic sustenance, but as a catalyst for cultural connection and belonging. She loves that the lab champions this vital link between food and holistic wellbeing.

Divyaa Nandur

Divyaa Nandur is a third-year UF student pursuing a dual degree in Nutritional Sciences and Biochemistry. She first joined the lab in early 2025 and saw it as a way to expand her interest in the intersection of food science and human health. Since joining the lab, meeting the PKT families, and understanding the science behind PKT, Divyaa has made it her goal to ensure that adequate education about PKT is accessible to all. Through attending clinics, organizing patient data, and spear-heading PKT communication, she has witnessed the power of community and human empathy in the healing of patients. Divyaa plans to carry these lessons with her and hopes to attend medical school and become a well-rounded and compassionate physician. Outside of her time in the lab, you can find Divyaa baking sourdough bread or at the gym!

Julianna (Juli) Wang

Juli Wang is a second-year Biochemistry student on a pre-medical track at the University of Florida. She wants to pursue a career in medicine improving patient outcomes and clinical efficiency. Through her involvement in the PKT lab she works with patient data and hopes to be involved with patient care experiences. Outside of school, she enjoys dancing, painting, and spending time with her friends and family.
