The Gator team assesses
the growth and body composition of HIV positive
pediatric patients, and has a specific interest
in HIV Associated Metabolic Disorder (HAMD).
Studies have shown that HIV positive children are
susceptible to growth delays, while their antiretroviral
therapies may have an additional negative effect
on growth. The goal of the Gator team is to
further investigate these trends while also providing
preventative nutrition-based care for our patients. |
